Message from the Rt. Hon’ble President
For the first time in history, an elected Constituent Assembly has adopted the Constitution of Nepal in 2015.
The Promulgation of this historical Constitution has ended the prolonged political conflict and the transition period in the country by conferring sovereign rights on the people and entrusting them with the responsibility of deciding the destiny and future of this country.
Programs in the name of President
There are two programmes named after the President of the Republic of Nepal. They are: the President’s Chure Conservation Programme (‘Rastrapati Chure Sanrakshyan Karyakram’) and the President’s Women Advancement Programme (‘Rastrapati Mahila Utthan Karyakram’)

Shital Niwas - The President's Office Building

The main building was and still is known as Shital Niwas. It was built by Rana Prime Minister Chandra Shumsher in 1923 for his son Krishna Shumsher who later donated it to the Government of Nepal. The building was successfully used as the State Guest House and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before it was converted into the Office of the President.
